A Warning Before Destruction

1 John 4:8
...for God is love.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The sinful Christian clings to these passages in particular, so that they may find some little justification or consolation in their continued sinful practices. Yes! God is Love, and, Yes! He will forgive. There is no denying that. But, you must also acknowledge the fact that the same verse which testifies to His forgiving nature also bares witness of of His just character.

Is it justice to let a thief go unpunished when he continues to steal?
is it justice to allow a murderer to continue his spree?
Of course not! Whether the criminal receive probation or prison or even some fine, there is a punishment.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament, cautioned and warned on this subject. Let's not be those people with itching ears, refusing to receive good instruction. Let's not be those who seek after this 'other gospel' which permits and condones, excuses and covers up the flouting of the Word of God.

I do not serve a Cut'n'Paste God. I cannot pick and choose which parts of the Bible I will believe and abide by. It's all or nothing at all. When the Word points out the sins of others, it is right! When the Word points out my sin, it is right!

So here are some passages that we should all read and take to heart:
